Feminine Factor unfolds as deeply emotional universe of large – scale oil paintings and previously unseen symbolic drawings.
Feminine Factor marks the culmination of five years travelling through Latin America – shaped by encounters with the land, it’s people and their ritual practices. Drawing from ancestral feminine archetypes, sisterhood and the forces of nature, her work moves between intimacy and transformation. Colour becomes emotion: softer tones hold tenderness, dreams and vulnerability, while bold contrasts reveal instinct, shadow and change.
At its core, Feminine Factor is a homecoming – not to a place, but to a shared pulse of being alive, deeply sensitive and connected. For Zoé, art exists between ritual and play – she speaks in a visual language that bends boundaries of the conscious, logical and therefore limiting world.
Water and Air explores emotion, intuition and vulnerability.
In BLUE FOR WATER, Zoé Mad turns inward. The figure appears submerged in a field of blue, suspended between purification and release. Water becomes a language for tenderness, melancholy and transformation – washing over memory while revealing what remains beneath the surface. The work moves between softness and sorrow, suggesting that surrender can itself become a form of strength.
ALEJANDRO shifts toward the ephemeral element of air: breath, thought and intimacy. Emerging from steam, the figure appears both exposed and protected. Silvery greens and smoky tones create a sense of suspension, while the red thread around his wrist is a symbol of boundary and protection.
In Earth and Fire, Zoé Mad turns toward grounding and instinct.
THREE PLANT SPIRITS and GIRLS; PLAYING belong to the Earth. They speak of connection, belonging and the intelligence of nature. In THREE PLANT SPIRITS, colour and movement evoke the pulse of the jungle, echoing ancestral beliefs that plants are spirits capable of healing us. GIRLS; PLAYING brings this connection into the space between two women, where sisterhood is explored as a form of feminine strength. The body and the natural world begin to mirror one another.
In THE MERMAID, earth gives way to fire. Reds and yellows carry instinct, passion and untamed energy. The central figure exists between water and flame, drawing together the mythology of the Baltic Sea and feminine archetypes encountered across the Amazon. She is the guardian of transformation – the spirit of ayahuasca – and a reminder that sensitivity and power can exist as one.
